Fusion Point Phase 2, Cardiff
New four storey office building of 60,000 sq ft, with undercroft parking built as phase 2 of a 3 phase development (phase 1 was completed in the summer of 2003). The dual level site is located within the Cardiff Bay development area. To make best use of the space available on site a simple and rigorously structured building was designed, this allowed for wide, clear floor plates, crisp detailing using a reduced palette of materials and uniform and rhythmical façades. The massing relates to the neighbouring developments and the choice and composition of materials combine to form a unified whole in keeping with the emerging context of the area.
