Chanel, Heathrow T5
A brand-new boutique of approximately 270sqm within Heathrow's prestigious Terminal 5. The project offered several technical and logistical challenges including bespoke concealed ceiling louvres to satisfy Heathrow's smoke venting criteria and a single pane frameless glass window display measuring an impressive 4.3 x 3.2m. The large Marble and Granite slabs forming the multifaceted façade pre-cut offsite meaning that the façade structural substrates had to be set-out and constructed to a 1mm tolerance prior to any stone arriving onsite. A challenging but very successful project. McDonald Architects acted as executive architects developing and implementing the concept design of Peter Marino Architects in New York.
